Launching the Revised DTC Course

Technowrites’s DTC course is for candidates who want to start their career or who want to make a mid-career change. It is designed to get you into the extremely-rewarding and global Technical Writing career. It does not need any background in IT or software development.

The revised DTC course will be a powerful combination of multiple learning resources. It is based on Technowrites 28 years of experience in Technical
Writing.

Online classroom sessions: Learning sessions every week, conducted on Tuesdays and Thursdays evening from 7pm to 9pm (India time). Additional Assignment Review & Feedback sessions when needed.

WhatsApp Coaching: Continuous interaction with faculty and other students through dedicated WhatsApp Group.

eLearning content: The course
will provide you access to all the course videos through technowritesversity (a learning management system online), which you can access 24×7

Offline meetings: When needed, with prior appointment

Comprehensive Training Material: Printed Booklets plus downloadable soft copies of training material and job aid (like SME interview questionnaire, review checklists, estimation sheets, and much more.)

 

Course validity: 6 Months

Technical Writing Theory & Process module: Complete training on TW process and tools. It will have four mandatory assignments and about 10 exercises.

The course includes tools training, and to enable the students to learn the tools. We are providing the tool training booklet. In addition to the tool training booklets, we are also providing the short videos which are focused on learning specific features of the tools. These videos are called as the video snippets. Typically, the length of a video snippet could vary from about four to 10 minutes.

Industry Orientation Module: Role-plays based on real-life scenarios of Technical Writing projects. This includes information collection, brainstorming, interviewing subject matter experts, writing, , reviewing documents. Plus, four more assignments to show as your sample work. This includes writing an actual User Guide and Online Help for a real application.

Completion of the 8 assignments is mandatory for giving the exam and getting certification.

Placements Assistance: Student will be made a member of the Technowrites Google group as well as the WhatsApp group for students. Through these groups the students get various job requirements as well as updates about the Technical Writing community in India.

Examination & Certification: At the end of the course, there will be an exam conducted online, which will include Written Test (50 marks) and Oral Exam (50 marks). Passing marks will be 60 out of 100 and the diploma certification will be given to students successfully completing both these exams.

The module includes placement module, which includes special sessions on resume writing special sessions on appearing for interviews. A mock interview for the willing student, plus the interview trainer audio series (totalling to about four hours of question answers.)

The placement record of Technowrites  is more than 70%. 

About the Trainer

Makarand
(Mak) Pandit is the Principal Trainer and Managing Director of Technowrites Private Limited. He graduated as an Electronics Engineer and did Post Graduation in Marketing Management. He has received an honorary doctorate with specialization in training. Mak is an internationally sought-after speaker, technology evangelist, technical communicator, instructional designer, project manager, and trainer. He is a founder member and Past President of STC India Chapter and Distinguished Chapter Service Award (DCSA) recipient. Mak was the first Indian to become a Fellow of Society for Technical Communication, USA.

He is also a member of the publications review board of the WAC Clearinghouse (initiated by the University of Colorado, USA). Mak has served as visiting faculty at Department of Journalism, Savitribai Phule Pune University; Department of Journalism, Flame University; and SCIT, Symbiosis; and several other institutes in India. He has also conducted online lectures of students at Mercer University (USA). Mak has served as member of board of studies for Department of English, Fergusson College, Pune; and IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University), New Delhi.

His book “Building a future-proof career” is published on Amazon.com. His books about interview question answers were also recently published in English as well as Marathi.  One more book is near publishing stage.
